Make Your Sign Switch to CLOSED Automatically

Set your opening hours once, and the screen takes care of itself: your sign while you are open, and a CLOSED sign with your reopening time when you are not.

Updated October 15, 2026

Set it up

  1. Open the sign maker and design your main sign, for example OPEN or BARBERSHOP OPEN.
  2. In Opening hours, turn on Show the sign only during opening hours.
  3. Set the time you open and the time you close.
  4. Under After hours, choose CLOSED sign or Black screen.
  5. Press Show on screen, or copy the sign link for your TV. The schedule travels with the link.

What customers see

While you are open, the screen shows your sign. After closing time it switches to a red CLOSED sign with a second line that tells people when you are back:

The CLOSED sign uses the same wall as your main sign, so the screen still looks like part of your shop.

Turn the screen black after hours

If you'd rather not show anything when you are closed, choose Black screen under After hours. The screen turns fully black at closing time and stops keeping the TV awake, so a TV or monitor with power saving can switch itself off. Some TVs stay asleep until you press a button, so check how yours behaves before relying on it to wake up at opening time.

Late-night hours

Bars, takeaways and kebab shops often close after midnight. Set the closing time earlier than the opening time, for example open 18:00 and close 02:00, and Neonyes treats it as one evening. The sign stays on until 2 a.m.

Open all day

Set the same time for opening and closing, for example 00:00 and 00:00, and the sign stays on all day. Pharmacies and gyms that never close can simply leave opening hours off.

Check the clock

The switch follows the clock of the device showing the sign. If your TV or stick shows the wrong time, set its time zone in its settings, or it will switch at the wrong hour.

Common questions

Does the TV need to stay on overnight?

Only if you want the CLOSED sign to show after hours. Many shops leave it on in the window so passers-by know when to come back. If you turn the TV off at night, the sign picks up the right state when you turn it on again.

Can I change the CLOSED message?

The reopening time is written for you from your hours. To show a different message after hours, design a second sign and switch to it yourself when you close.
